Position: UI Engineer

Location: San Francisco, CA

Meraki is the first wireless networking company to make centralized network management of thousands of access points and users available through an cloud-hosted web service. We are looking for creative user interface engineers who are excited about developing the next generation networking tools capable of processing large volumes of network configuration and data.

We are obsessed with building intuitive management interfaces, and are looking for developers who are equally excited about inventing great tools that have an impact. You'll be part of a tight-knit team of talented engineers, and will work closely with other teams to get the data and controls you need to build something great.

Responsibilities

  • Designing, developing and deploying production web interfaces.
  • Interacting with product managers and other engineers to prototype new ideas.
  • Ownership of code through deployment and maintenance.
Requirements
  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science.
  • Current knowledge of Javascript and CSS required for cross-browser compatibility. Familiarity with Ruby on Rails is a plus.
  • Experience deploying code on production web services.
  • Ability to thrive in a group environment and work in small teams.

Position: Backend Systems Engineer

Location: San Francisco, CA

Meraki's multi-site, hosted backend system provides authentication, RF planning, monitoring and diagnostic services for thousands of wireless networks and millions of client devices worldwide. We are looking for motivated, intellectually curious developers to help us scale our systems.

As a key member of our backend engineering team, you will be helping design and deploy a distributed, highly reliable system with some of the brightest people in the networking and systems. Improving and scaling our backend requires strong engineering and exceptional analytical ability.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the design, development and deployment of new services.
  • Maintaining and building monitoring tools for production services.
  • Full software life-cycle ownership.
Requirements
  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science; Ph.D. a plus.
  • Familiarity with C++, Ruby or Python and understanding of databases.
  • Experience running a live service or building production systems.
  • Ability to thrive in a group environment and work in small teams.

Position: Technical Support Representative

Location: San Francisco, CA

As a Technical Support Rep for Meraki, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service by researching and resolving support cases from Meraki’s customers and business partners. You will also help to identify and write knowledge base entries to help customers identify and resolve issues. This is a position requiring an individual who is extremely motivated, enthusiastic and results-driven. The successful candidate posses a high energy level which allows them to react to situations quickly and decisively. As a Technical Support Rep for Meraki, it will be critical for you conduct business dealings in a way that creates a superior customer experience that will set the stage for future growth.

Responsibilities

  • Research and resolve issues reported by Meraki customers and partners in a professional manner and closing customer trouble tickets efficiently.
  • Identify issues suitable for entry in the Meraki Knowledge Base. Write, review, and release KB items.
  • Work with engineering to diagnose and resolve critical escalated issues.
  • Identify product issues and report them in the defect database.
Requirements
  • 2+ years experience with networking products.
  • Experience supporting or testing LANs, VLANs, VPNs, NAT devices, or DHCP servers.
  • Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model: be able to explain the functions of and differences among the link, network, transport, and application layers
  • Experience installing and trouble-shooting Wi-Fi networks (802.11a/b/g/n).
  • Excellent verbal communication skills – must possess a strong phone presence with the ability to speak clearly in English and educate or guide customers of all technical skill levels, through support interfaces and troubleshooting processes.
  • Demonstrated written communication skills defined as the ability to clearly document symptoms, troubleshooting steps and compose professionally written emails.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the utmost diligence is essential.
  • A positive attitude, eagerness to contribute daily to customer success and enthusiasm for working in a team.
  • Attention to detail is an absolute must.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and set priorities.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical disipline; MBA a plus.

Second Level Technical Support Representative

 

Location: San Francisco, CA

 

Meraki is looking for an experienced and hands on Second Level Technical Support professional. You will be responsible for handling escalated support cases from Meraki’s customers and business partners. You will also help to identify and write knowledge base entries to help customers identify and self- resolve issues. Responsibilities

  • Research and resolve wireless network issues reported by Meraki customers and partners
  • Identify issues suitable for entry in the Meraki Knowledge base, write, have reviewed and release those KB items
  • Work with engineering to diagnose and resolve critical escalated issues
  • Identify and report product issues in the defect database

 

Requirements

  • 3+ years of support experience for a network products company
  • Knowledge of advanced TCP/IP networking concepts
  • Wireless networking troubleshooting or deployment experience
  • Experience supporting and troubleshooting firewall / security, IP routing, DNS, DHCP and NAT
  • Hands-on, detail oriented trouble shooter.
  • Capacity to deal with the growing pains of a fast-paced start-up environment.
  • Team player with excellent organization, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
