Features & Benefits

Exceptional Performance Across Three 802.11n Radios

With three 802.11n radios, the Meraki MR58 delivers higher throughput to even heavy concentrations of end users. Smart automatic frequency selection and optimization algorithms make it possible to cover entire cities while automatically avoiding interference and other slowdowns. By using advanced MIMO antenna technology and modulation selection techniques, the MR58 can also drive weaker links at high data rates.

Cover Large Areas and Long Distances

With two radios dedicated to high-throughput mesh connections, the Meraki MR58 can create very large mesh networks with up to 5 hops, little bandwidth degradation, and using only a limited number of Internet connections. One, two, or all three radios can be equipped with optional directional antenna accessories to create long distance mesh links of up to 20 km with clear line of sight.

Deploys Fast

Flexible mounting kits and LED feedback make it quick to mount the Meraki MR58 on walls, roofs, poles, towers, and other locations. The MR58 also detects an internet connection automatically without any additional need for on-site configuration. Designed for rugged deployments in outdoor or industrial settings, the MR58 is also the right solution for large indoor areas with heavy demand for bandwidth.

Recommended Deployments

Recommended Deployments

Below are examples of deployments well suited to take advantage of the capabilities of the MR58.

High performance 802.11n network

The MR58 is an ideal solution for high-capacity, fast, and secure wireless networks. To achieve maximum performance we recommend using only MR58s in your network and have at least one MR58 connected to a high-bandwidth connection to the internet.

Backhaul enhancement for large networks

The MR58 can improve the performance of large Meraki networks by providing high-capacity backhaul to aggregate bandwidth and reduce the number of wired Internet connections.

Long distance links

The MR58, with a high-gain directional antenna, is designed for applications that require long distance and high-throughput.

Cloud Controller

Cloud Controller

Instead of requiring you to install and maintain expensive network monitoring equipment and IT personnel, Meraki's data centers host all of the network services allowing you to build and operate a high-quality wireless network at a disruptively low total cost.

We’ve reexamined every aspect of large scale wireless design. Our management software is completely hosted, which means you don’t need to buy any software licenses and purchase, configure, and maintain management servers. In addition, we don’t rely on controllers, eliminating an expensive hardware component. Robust mesh networking dramatically reduces the amount of wiring and installation needed, reducing costs and speeding deployment. The Meraki system features revolutionary usability, and it works right out of the box - no additional purchases necessary.

Simple and fast

Meraki makes it easy to setup large networks quickly. IT professionals save time since they don’t have to learn a complex architecture or attend lengthy training sessions. Plus, Meraki includes most commonly used networking components, so there’s no need to perform a complex systems integration effort to get your network up and running. It takes days, not months.

Robust

With close to 10,000 networks deployed, Meraki software is used to run more mesh networks than any other vendor. Our robust hosted services tools enable you to configure, monitor, and maintain your network remotely.

Cost Effective

Meraki saves you money. By eliminating the need for costly controllers and management software licenses, we reduce your upfront investment. In addition, our mesh means you need to run fewer wires, reducing costs and network deployment time. Finally, our easy to use software means you need to invest less management time over the long haul.
